Middle School Young Disicples
Middle School Young Disicples
Our Middle School Youth Disciples meet on Friday evenings from 7:00-8:30 and is open to anyone in grades 6-8. Church membership is not required and friends are always welcome. We rotate through four types of evenings together.
Fellowship Night: Growing together and deepening our relationship with God through team-building and interactive games
Game Night: Board games, active games, mysteries, something different every time.
Service Project: Serving others in the community through food, crafts, and other ways to support their needs.
Big Bang: Monthly outings to different events or activities in the area to just have fun and be together. (We do ask that youth participate in the monthly service project or complete another act of service before attending the Big Bang).
Service Project
Middle School Youth Group took their turn filling bags of Halloween surprises and delivering their boo bags to some of our neighbors!
Fellowship Night
Our Middle School Youth Group had a Fellowship Night and finished up with a game of sardines!
Big Bang: Escape Room
Our Middle School Youth Group headed on their first Big Bang of the year to an escape room, and they were successful in escaping!
End-of-Year Celebration
Our youth group had a wonderful time together for our end-of-year celebration. And once the weather dried up a bit, we did get to spend some time outside together! It's always bittersweet to finish up a youth group year because we absolutely adore our time together but we can't wait to see these amazing young people again in the fall!
5th Grade Preview Night
At the end of each school year, we invite our 5th graders to join us at youth group for a special sneak peek to see what youth group is all about! We have a great time doing rotations of service, fellowship and games.
Big Bang: Laser Tag
Last week, our youth group headed to XtremeCraze for a few rounds of Laser tag. This was their monthly Big Bang outing, where we learned that Bridget is an all-star Laser tagger! This week, we will be meeting at the church for a game night.
Fellowship Night: Change
Last week, our youth group had a fellowship night where they explored change. They worked in partners and tried to notice what had changed about their partner (sweatshirt backwards, shoes off, sleeves rolled up, etc.). We then talked about how hard change can be but how it can also be a blessing.
And we caught some of our youth getting ready to hold hands for our closing circle before we even asked them to circle up! We absolutely love this crew and look forward to hanging out with them every Friday.
Big Bang: Putnam Pantry
It's never too cold for ice cream! Our youth group enjoyed some delicious treats at our monthly Big Bang outing to Putnam Pantry. We love getting to spend very Friday night with this crew!
Movie Night
Our youth group got cozy with another movie night right before vacation week. They came to church in their pjs and brought blankets and pillows. They kicked back with snacks and enjoyed watching “Snow Dogs”.
Service Project: Trivia Night Prep
Our youth group worked on preparing for our Birthday Trivia Potluck that will take place in March. They broke up into groups and chose some engaging questions in categories like sports, geography, food, and much more!
Game Night: Win, Lose, or Draw
We celebrated our monthly Game Night with a game of Win, Lose, or Draw
Service Project: Baking
Our youth group recently baked cookies for Lazarus House Ministries for their service project. We baked dozens of chocolate chip, peanut butter, and gluten free chocolate chip cookies.
Movie Night
Our youth group got cozy with a movie night. They came to church in their pjs and brought blankets and pillows. They kicked back with snacks and enjoyed watching “Elf” before playing a quick game of their beloved Ghosts in the Graveyard.
Fellowship Night: Gratitude
Our youth group had a Fellowship Night where they dove deep into what gratitude means. They made a gratitude chain with each link containing something for which they are thankful. Everyone was invited to add to this chain during coffee hour.
Big Bang: Boda Borg
Our youth group went on our monthly Big Bang outing to the much beloved Boda Borg where we had a blast trying to complete a variety of challenges and puzzles!
Service Project: Meals on Wheels
Our youth group worked on their October service project, making these adorable pumpkin tray favors for Meals on Wheels.
Big Bang: Corn Maze
Our youth group had a great time at our annual flashlight corn maze Big Bang. We tried a new spot this year and loved Kimball Farm.
Some groups were a little (okay, a lot) quicker than others but we all enjoyed getting lost in the dark!
Fellowship Night: Trust, Teamwork, and Peanut Butter & Jelly
Our Youth Group met for a Fellowship Night where they learned that life (and sandwich-making) is so much better when we work together.
