Confirmation Church Visit

Confirmation is a very important step in one’s faith journey.  This journey begins with baptism when one is welcomed into the family of faith. On the day when one is baptized, we celebrate God’s unconditional love for them.  Their families make a sacred promise to raise them in the Christian faith and help them grow in your understanding and appreciation of God’s unconditional love.  Over the years their Pastors & Sunday school teachers also share their faith with them and when they are in 8th grade, they are invited to take the important step.

As part of the confirmation program, confirmands are matched with a mentor to walk with them along this important part of the journey. Confirmands also participate in formal classes as well as service projects, worship services, bible studies, stewardship activities, field trips, and an overnight retreat, and they serve as acolytes at our worship services.

Classes meet every Friday from 6-7 in the chapel. Confirmands are invited to stay for youth group following the class.

As part of our journey to understand the breadth of the Christian faith, our Confirmation Class will be taking a special field trip on Sunday, May 17.

We will be visiting Aldersgate United Methodist Church to join them for their morning worship service. This visit offers our confirmands a wonderful opportunity to experience the traditions, liturgy, and community of a different Christian denomination firsthand.

Exploring how our neighbors praise God helps us better understand our own UCC identity and strengthens our connection to the wider Body of Christ.
