Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention
Michele Lee from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention joined us with a presentation that provided participants with life-saving knowledge and confidence critical to preventing suicide.
We learned about this leading cause of death, the most up-to-date research on prevention, and what we can all do to help save lives.
We looked at the common risk factors for suicide, how to spot the warning signs in others, and practical examples for how to engage in critical conversations and connect to resources.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in working to keep ourselves, our loved ones and those in our community safe. When it comes to suicide prevention — talk truly can help to save lives.
Welcome Back Carnival
Even a bit of rain couldn’t dampen the fun as friends and family gathered for our annual Welcome Back Carnival. We enjoyed games, crafts, face painting, and treats like cotton candy and popcorn. The popular “Dunk the Pastor” tank as a big hit, proving that soggy weather is no match for a determined community ready to celebrate the new church year.
Church Family Pool Party
A huge thank you to Maria & Chris Baker for hosting our end-of-summer church family pool party! We had a wonderful time!
